Section 6. Non-Protected Works

The following shall not be protected by copyright:

  1. regulatory enactments and administrative rulings, other documents issued by the State and Local Governments and adjudications of courts (laws, court judgements, decisions and other official documents), as well as official translations of such texts and official consolidated versions;
  2. State approved, as well as internationally recognised official symbols and signs (flags, Coats of Arms, anthems, and awards), the use of which is subject to specific regulatory enactments;
  3. maps, the preparation and use of which are determined by regulatory enactments;
  4. information provided in the press, radio or television broadcasts or other information media concerning news of the day and various facts and events;
  5. ideas, methods, processes and mathematical concepts.

Description
English: The Standard of the Minister of Defence of Latvia is white with the symmetric cross in the colour proportions of the national flag. In top left canton of the flag the soldier insignia is placed. The height of insignia is 3/5 of the height of canton. The proportion between the width of the national colours and that of the Banner is 1:5. The proportion between the length and width of the Banner is 3:2.
Latviešu: Aizsardzības ministra karogs ir balts ar taisno krustu valsts karoga krāsu samēros. Karoga augšējā kreisajā laukumā karavīru kokarde (bez valsts krāsu lentes). Kokardes platums ir 3/5 no laukuma platuma. Valsts krāsu platums pret karoga platumu ir 1 : 5. Karoga garuma un platuma attiecība ir 3:2
