Fair Use in Beverly Cotton Manufactory[edit]

This image is a reillustration used to depict what the Beverly Cotton Manufactory looked like. There is no evidence that the mill looked like this, except for some sketches done by various people. It is assumed that these sketches are true, however note that the depiction of the mill may not be factual.

The image serves to show what the mill looked like, gives an idea of placement of the mill at the intersection it was on, and shows some of what the construction of the mill could have been. The image is being used as the primary means of visual identification on the subject.

This image was drawn from an artist who used a previous sketch. The original sketch is not available, and the Beverly Historical Society won't release rights of any subsequent estimated sketches of the mill. The copyright holder's work is currently being held at the Beverly Historical Society, who refuses to grant a public license to the work.

The resolution is different than the original, as the source for this came from a photocopy.

The image is not replaceable with a free content image, as no such free content image exists for as long as the Beverly Historical Society retains the rights to the original illustration.
