Description
English: Scene of deadly quarrel over chess, in Chevalerie Ogier. According to the text, Prince Charlot kills Bauduinet, son of Ogier with a "escekier d'ornier" (v. 3185): "Charlot.. seizing the golden chess-board with both hands, strikes Baldwinet on the forehead, cleaves his head that his brains fly out" (Ludlow, Popular Epics 2, p. 262).
