English: Boscobel complex, Luck Stone Corporation quarry, photographed at the Virginia Geological Field Conference, November 12, 2022. The complex consists of fine-crystalline, gray gneiss interlayered with coarse-crystalline, white granite. Interfingering of lithologies is apparent.
Taken using telephoto lens. Field of view is approximately 100 feet across, at the bottom of the quarry pit, looking approximately south. |
