Summary

Description
Français : Nestier est un petit village du canton de Saint-Laurent-de-Neste. Il abrite sur une colline nommée Mont Arès un calvaire très original.

Le Mont Arès est un ancien lieu de culte païen (comme beaucoup d'autres dans les Pyrénées). Onze oratoires de pierre et chaux ont été bâtis à cet endroit, selon les techniques paysannes locales, vers 1855-1860. Chaque petite chapelle comporte un panneau explicatif très bien fait (textes, anciennes photos, historique...).

Au sommet de la colline se trouve la « chapelle haute », qui date de 1863 (elle avait remplacé une croix).
