One of oldest post offices in continuous operation in the United States (established 1794, building dates from 1817, located on Main Street, Castine, Maine. Construction of the building was in 1817, but the first federal use was a a Custom House beginning in 1833. In 1869 the building was renovated to accomodate the post office.
