Summary

Description
English: A satire on the beaked bonnet by French artist "Cham" (Amédée de Noé) -- the man is proceeding to desperate measures to try to get a glimpse of the lady's face (hidden under her bonnet when she looks down) as he is conversing with her...

Probably drawn in the 1840's, but apparently depicting the fashions of the early 1820's(?).

The signature ("CHAM") is at lower left.
