Symbolisme de son blason

  • La salamandre: la région de Thetford-Mines là où il est né produit de l’amiante. Tout comme la salamandre qui vit dans le feu sans se détruire, l’amiante se caractérise par sa résistance à l’action du feu.
  • La houlette: elle représente le bâton du berger, pasteur du troupeau.
  • La lettre "M": elle rappelle la présence de la Vierge Marie dans la vie et les activités de Monseigneur Morissette.
  • Les épis de blé: ils symbolisent les différentes institutions où il a étudié et plus particulièrement, Sainte Anne de la Pocatière. Le semis de blé rappelle le Grand Séminaire de Québec où il a vécu pendant plusieurs années.
