Summary

Description
English: Edinburgh, Camus Avenue, Comiston House
. This was the house of Sir James Forrest who was Lord Provost of Edinburgh 1837-1843. The (listed) stable block, Comiston Stables (90m west), are now beautifully restored/converted into a house. The stables property also incorporates an older dovecot (also listed). Sir James's former farmhouse, Comiston Farmhouse (not listed, despite several attempts) lies 325m NW. It is currently (September 2018) being sold by Edinburgh Council and is likely to be converted into flats and several dwellings built in the garden. The farmhouse is interesting because it is a Villa, no doubt built to impress Sir James's friends and neighbours.
