Description
English: Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa (CFAO) is headquartered on the north side of Kadena Air Base, adjacent to the Kadena Town. CFAO facilities include various U.S. Naval facilities such as Camp Marvin B. Shields, the forward deployed Naval Mobile Construction Battalion support base, located directly northeast of Kadena Air Base; White Beach Port Facility, located in Katsuren, Uruma City on the Pacific Coast, which provides anchorage, pier service and replenishment to SEVENTH Fleet amphibious units; Tengan Pier, a primary ammunition pier, located northeast of Kadena Air Base; and the Awase Transmitter Facility, a high frequency and low frequency communication unit, located on the Awase Peninsula on the east coast of Okinawa.
