DescriptionContinental and Commercial National Bank (6039061228).jpg
The Continental and Commercial National Bank (1914) in Chicago. Situated across the street from the Rookery, the longtime headquarters of Daniel Burnham, the bank was designed by Graham, Burnham & Co. after Daniel Burnham's death. JW Marriott recently converted the first twelve floors to a hotel. In 1984, Continental Illinois gained the dubious distinction of being the largest bank to ever fail until being dwarfed by Washington Mutual in 2008.
