Description

Illustration for the mass flow meter article, for the purpose of illustrating the mass flow meter operating principle; actual mass flow meters are not designed this way.
This is the first animation of a group of four.

A flow meter that uses the Coriolis effect for its operating principle is also called a Coriolis flow meter.

Reason for uploading differently sized versions:

Static images are automatically resized by the wikimedia software, hence uploading one version suffices, but animated GIF's cannot be resized by the wikimedia software. The large versions are too large to fit on the page, and they are three times as much Kilobytes in size.
