Deutsch: Um 1322 erhielt Neuerburg die Rechte der Stadt Vianden. Aus dieser Zeit stammt auch das älteste Siegel der Stadt, aus dem das heutige Wappen abgeleitet wurde. Der Turm steht redend für den Ortsnamen und erinnert ebenso an die ehemalige Befestigung, der Neuerburg. Die vordere Hälfte war gleichzeitig das Wappen des Grafen Friedrich III. von Vianden. |
