Портрет Е.С.Питс-Билибиной Попова (в замужестве Питс) Елена Сергеевна (1891-1974) - художница; в 1910-1915 гг. училась в Школе ИОПХ; работала на Петроградском фарфоровом заводе; в предреволюционные годы уехала в Англию. Бывшая жена И. Билибина. Питтс - Joseph Pitts, Mirsky's bank manager in Paris[1] Из письма К. Сомова: Париж, 15 февраля 1926 г. "Пришел другой заказ, масляный портрет. М-м Питтс — она была прежде Билибиной,— очень милой и умной дамы. Сначала она хотела заказать мне портрет с головы цветными карандашами муж ее сказал, что уж раз заказывать портрет, то лучше маслом и большой. Он богатый банкир. Похож на Черномора, но довольно симпатичный и культурный, любит искусство и книги. И собирает старину, мы вместе обсуждали позу и костюм. Она, как манекен в модном доме, переодевалась 5 раз, и я выбрал закрытое бархатное платье цвета lie de vin (винный — по-французски). На старинной бержерке (кресло — по-французски), обитой желтым с узорами штофом. Она так близорука, что носит очки себя ими очень портит. Предложил их держать в руках, чему она очень обрадовалась". |
