Summary

Description
English: Eckford Parish Church Stands on the site of a church granted to Jedburgh Abbey in the early 13th century. The church was burnt by the English army in 1544, and it is said that the church bell was removed to either Norham Church or Carham Church in Northumberland. The present day church was built between 1665 and 1668. The north aisle was added in 1722 and further alterations took place in 1774 and 1898. There is a small belfry with a bell and outside chain on the west gable. (Source: The Churches and Graveyards of Roxburghshire by G.A.C.Binnie). Viewed from the A698 just outside the square.
