Nederlands: Anonymous (1613) Een warachtige beſchrijvinge Van 64. Toovereſſen die door haer Tooveryen over de Duysent Menschen ſo oude Lieden als jonge kinderen/en[de] wel ſes duysent Beesten hebben omgebracht/twelc jammerlijck en[de] bedroeft om hooren is zonder de groote ſchaden die zy oock inde Vruchten gedaen hebben/ dat eens Menſchen hayr mocht te bergh ſtaen diet hoorden/alzoo zijt ſelfs bekent hebben voor de Justitie/dies zy gherecht zijn alle daghen twee/beginnende den 24. September 1613. tot noch toe. Ende dit is wt het Protocol ghetoghen der Stadt Rumunt/ (alwaer geſchiet is) ende in Druck gheſtelt. Nimweghen: Aert Corneliſſoon, [p. 1].
Pamflet over de heksenprocessen in Roermond, Straelen, Wassenberg en Swalmen, verschenen in Nijmegen circa 1613/1614. De illustratie geeft geen realistisch beeld van de terechtstellingen. Waarschijnlijk werden de veroordeelden op een brandstapel aan een paal vastgebonden, gewurgd en daarna verbrand. Veruit de meeste slachtoffers waren vrouwen. Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Den Haag. |
