Tekst op een stenen banderol (smalle vlag) tussen twee wapenborden, links met vier dwarsbalken beladen met 10 sterren, rechts met een uitspringende dwarsbalk. Latijnse tekst:

Anno d(omi)ni m cccc xlix (1449) secu(n)do die me(n)sis septembris Obiit ven(era)bilis vir
D(omi)n(u)s iacobus de lichtenberch p(rae)positus Eccl(es)ie s(anc)ti petri T(ra)iecten(sis) nec no(n)
Hu(ius) [?] Eccl(es)ie can(onicus) hic sepultus orate p(ro) eo

Vertaling: In het jaar van de Heer 1449 op 2 september Overleed de eerwaarde man / Heer Jacob van Lichtenberch proost van de kerk van de heilige Pieter van Utrecht en bovendien / Van deze kerk kanunnik hier begraven Bidt voor hem.

Van Lichtenberg van de onwettige vader van de Utrechtse kluizenares en dichteres Suster Bertken (1426/1427-1514).

English: Epitaph for Jacob van Lichtenberg (around 1384 - 1449), Domkerk Utrecht (St. Martin's Cathedral), above the entrance to the sacristy in the north aisle of the church. Stone text banderole between two coats of arms, on the left with four crossbars loaded with 10 stars, on the right with a protruding crossbar.

Hu(ius) [?] Eccl(es)ie can(onicus) hic sepultus orate p(ro) eo

Translation: In the year of the Lord 1449 on September 2, the venerable man died / Lord Jacob van Lichtenberch Provost of the church of Saint Peter at Utrecht and moreover / Of this church Canon buried here Pray for him.

Van Lichtenberg was the illegitimate father of the Utrecht poetess and anchorite Suster Bertken (1426/1427-1514).
