Summary

Description

The well-packed engine bay of a 1982 Fiat X1/9 1500. Note the rust damage on the rear wheel arch, one of the most common places for X1/9 'daily drivers' to rust.

Also of note is the silver metal pipe carrying air from the side vents to the carburettor. When the engine was turned off a fan would blow air through the pipe to cool the carb and hopefully prevent fuel vapor locks on starting: unfortunately it worked better in theory than practice.
