What everyone was waiting for!!
The long awaited formation of two Gloster Gladiators!
The formation is led by old favourite G-AMRK from the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden. Currently in 73sqn markings as 'K7985', she is actually 'L8032'.
Trailing is the TFC Gladiator appropriatly registered G-GLAD. She wears 72 sqn markings with her genuine serial 'N5903'. The serial is a clue to her true identity for she is actually a Sea Gladiator II and was for many years on static display in the FAA museum at Yeovilton. Sold to TFC, she has been beautifully restored to fly. She was flown on this occasion by TFCs chief pilot, Peter Kynsey.
As far as I am aware, this weekend was the first time that two Gladiators have flown together since WW2.
