At least 3 versions of this Birch engraving exist. Another adds an insert in the foreground showing the completed covered bridge. A third shows only the covered bridge. The Schuylkill Permanent Bridge crossed the Schuylkill River at Market Street. It opened to traffic on January 1, 1805.
