Summary

Description
English: Title page of John Doddridge (1658) The Several Opinions of Sundry Learned Antiquaries: viz. Mr Justice Doddridge, Mr Agar, Francis Tate, William Canden [sic: Camden], and Ioseph Holland. Touching the Antiquity, Power, Order, State, Manner, Persons and Proceedings of the High-Court of Parliament in England, London: Printed for William Leake [the younger], at the Crown in Fleet-street, betwixt the two Temple-Gates OCLC: 15231340.

Sir John Doddridge's nephew, John Dodderidge (1610–1659) arranged for the publication of the book: see W[illiam] R[etlaw] Williams (1898) The Parliamentary History of the County of Gloucester, including the Cities of Bristol and Gloucester, and the Boroughs of Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stroud, and Tewkesbury, from the Earliest Times to the Present Day, 1213–1898, Hereford: Private printing for the author by Jakeman and Carver, pp. 116–117 OCLC: 10849371. However, it has been suggested that the essay in the book said to be by John Doddridge, entitled Dissertation on Parliament, is of doubtful authenticity.

Public domain

This work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 100 years or fewer.

You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States.
This file has been identified as being free of known restrictions under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
