Summary

Description
English: Jougs at Eckford Parish Church This set of jougs on the south wall of the church has four links and a full collar, and was used as an instrument of punishment by attaching the iron collar around an offender's neck. It is positioned by a built up doorway and in 1718 the Session records noted the payment of "£1-10 Scots for the jougs put up at the kirk door".
