DescriptionLego Space - Set 6927 All-Terrain Vehicle (1981).jpg
Set 6927, All-Terrain Vehicle, was introduced in 1981, featuring the propulsion vehicle with its new white body/blue windows color scheme, as well as a detachable mobile lab, with its classic blue body/yellow window color scheme. It consists of 170 pieces, as well as two astronaut minifigures, one red and one white.
This particular example was acquired from a US-based eBay seller, though the actual shipping location was Toronto, Canada. This example has lots of play wear, a few broken pieces, and no instructions; I read the instructions off of Peeron.com, and replaced the damaged parts with my spare pieces or with a different build.
The completed set, with some yellowing of the white pieces evident. Additionally, I took some liberty with the side markers of the front cockpit; they are supposed to be placed on a ring protruding from the side of a 1x1 tile, but since one of those tiles had its ring completely snapped off, I had to improvise by building the red markers into the cab structure and making them flush with everything else. At least the broken part is a common part that is still made new, so authentic restoration won't be too difficult.
