Le Caire : fouilles archéologiques dans le quartier d'El-Fostat du Caire

La ville d'El Fostat (aujourd'hui un quartier du Caire) fut fondée par le général Amru ben al-As suite à la conquête de l'Égypte par les Arabes en 641. C'est là que la première mosquée du pays et de l'Afrique fut bâtie.
