Summary

Description
English: Lieutenant Colonel David Cossgrove shown wearing his Boer War Uniform & with ALL of his medals ... photograph slightly damaged over time, but repaired by his innovative Grandaughter (my Mother) - around 1960 - 1965, (by utilising an old newspaper & some black "boot polish"). Photo has also been uploaded (by myself) onto my own Tripello.xanga weblog:

http://tripello.xanga.com/754442527/item/ P.S.. Photo has been also used elsewhere (earlier) on several other websites (by myself); Plus scanned copies have been sent to the Christchurch Library, NZ - for inclusion with their own records. http://christchurchcitylibraries.com/heritage/photos/disc9/IMG0006.asp & http://christchurchcitylibraries.com/Heritage/Cemeteries/Bromley/BromleyCemetery.pdf (pg:53 & pg: 54)

I have "dated" the photo at 31/12/1910 as to be as near as can possibly be guessed -- tohave been taken by the photographer at the time.. (as sadly no family historical date was ever written on the back of this photo - as most were usually dated & noted) .. thus - the family has assumed a date for the picture (being as old as it is) to have been taken around 1910 as this would have been most probable, and it certainly NOT have been taken any LATER than 1920 .. (as that was when he passed away).
