English: Outcrop of the Marburg Schist within Codorus State Park, York County, Pennsylvania. The building in the background is the Black Rock Lodge operated by the park. The photo was taken when the level of Lake Marburg was well below average (about 187.7 ft elevation). The Marburg Schist is described as "bluish-gray to slivery-green fine-grained schist, containing muscovite, chlorite, albite or chloritoid, and quartz." (Lloyd, O.B., Jr. and Growitz, D.J., 1977, Ground-water resources of central and southern York County, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Geological Survey, Water Resource Report 42, 1:62,500.) This outcrop was apparently low-grade slate or phyllite.
