У среду, 2. марта 2011. године, министар просвете проф. др Жарко Обрадовић послао је честитку ученицима Математичке гимназије поводом постигнутог успеха на такмичењу Romanian Master of Mathematics: "Поводом великог успеха који су ученици Математичке гимназије остварили на међународном такмичењу младих математичара одржаном у Букурешту, ученицима који су освојили медаље и њиховим професорима у име Министарства просвете и у своје лично име упућујем срдачне честитке. Остварени успех и освојене медаље још једна су потврда великог талента и огромног рада њихових професора, бриге родитеља и одговорности друштва. Министарство просвете увек је подржавало и подржаваће младе таленте и вредне ученике, обезбеђујући услове за њихово образовање и напредовање и омогућавајући њихово учешће на смотрама и такмичењима на којима могу да искажу резултате свог рада и талента. И овај пут Министарство просвете ће ученике који су освојили медаље и њихове професоре наградити са седмодневним припремама на Златибору за наредно такмичење".English: Serbian Minister of Education, Žarko Obradović, congratulating MGB students and professors for winning the absolute first place at the international competition "Romanian Master", organized for best 120 mathematicians (best 20 teams) from previous year's International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).
