Description
Deutsch: Region Frankfurt, 1893: Höchst und Umgebung. Höchst war im späten 19.Jh. eine rasant wachsende Industriestadt und ein wichtiger Eisenbahnknotenpunkt. Die schnurgerade nach Nordwesten führende Königsteiner Chaussee und die sie rechtwinklig schneidende Elisabethenstraße entstammen dagegen der vorindustriellen Zeit.
English: Frankfurt region, 1893: Höchst, fast-growing industrial suburb of Frankfurt and a regional railway hub. Note the intersection of two totally straight roads, dating back to pre-industrial time.
