English: A memorial 'stone' to Corporal John Smith at Montgreenan old castle, North Ayrshire, Scotland. 2007. Rosser 12:16, 27 April 2007 (UTC) He was an Ohio Volunteer and was killed in the American Civil War at Chattanooga, Tennessee, however nothing is known of the reasons for his involvement or the origins of this very unusual memorial.
