English: Musbury: Musbury Castle View from the site of the iron age hillfort, accessible by public footpaths steeply from the village and more easily from the north, along the ridge. Looking south west to the mouth of the Axe and Seaton Bay. The Romans had a port at Axmouth and this is reputedly where the Fosse Way ended. Axmouth village is hidden by the wooded Hawkdown Hill, the site of a second hillfort. Musbury Castle stands 170m above sea level |
