Description
English: MetroCard Vending Machines (MVMs) like they are located in all New York City Subway stations.
The MVMs were first introduced in January 1999 and are now found in two models. Standard MVMs as seen on the left are large boxes that accept cash, credit cards, and ATM or debit cards. The smaller version on the right only accept credit and ATM/debit cards. However, both machines allow a customer to purchase every type of MetroCard and can also add fares to previously issued MetroCards.
The machines are operated through a touch screen. Moreover they are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 through use of braille and a headset jack, which is programmed through the keypad.
