Description

Augmented arms granted in 1649 to Sir Edward Nicholas (1593-1669), Secretary of State to King Charles II: Argent, on a cross gules an imperial crown or (i.e. a Cross of St George, English patron saint with a crown). Quartering his paternal arms: Argent, a fess wavy between three ravens sable (Nicholas of Winterborne Earls, Wiltshire).
