Summary

Description
English: March 6, 1836 letter written by delegate, Martin Parmer, from the Convention at Washington-on-the-Brazos to the people of Texas advising them of losses suffered by the Texians at the hands of the Mexican Army and encouraging a "general turn out" by the Texians in order to secure the independence of Texas. This letter was originally published in the Niles' Weekly Register published at Baltimore on April 9, 1836 on page 99. Just below Parmer's letter is the famous story of Davy Crockett that if the people of his Congressional district did not re-elect him that "they might go to hell, and I would go to Texas."
