English: "First Sacrifice in the Promised Land", a painting by George M. Ottinger of a Book of Mormon scene. A figure (Lehi) stands in front of an altar made of stacked stones. Lehi has his arms raised up. Behind him, tropical palm trees are visible, and a rainbow. Moutnains are visible in the distant background, obscured by clouds. People (Lehi's family and traveling companions) crowd at the left, lower, and right edges of the image: a mix of men, women, and children in a variety of poses, sitting and standing.
