Summary

Description Plan of the second Marshalsea prison, London. The map is dated 1843. The accompanying text says, "This plan was produced in 1842 when the prison was finally closed and the land sold privately by Messrs Driver. One of the most important prisons in the capital under Elizabeth I, Marshalsea was used mainly for debtors."
