Saint George and the Dragon at Köpmantorget in Gamla stan, Stockholm, Sweden, is a 1912 bronze replica of the wooden Saint George and the Dragon statue in Storkyrkan.
Saint George and the Dragon in Storkyrkan in Stockholms Gamla stan from 1489. The most famouse sculpture by Bernt Notke. An exact copy of this sculpture is at St. Catherine's Church in Lübeck. The statue had been commissioned by the Swedish regent Sten Sture the Elder, to commemorate Sture's victory over King Christian I of Denmark in the 1471 Battle of Brunkeberg.Inauguration 1912
