Having spent some 30 years being roaded around the country to shows and events by the RAF Exhibition Flight, few would have ever expected to see this Spit fly again. But here she is in all her glory!!
Restored here at Coningsby, initially by volunteers, she is now operated as part of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF). She wears the markings of a 74sqn aeroplane (TB675) which was the personal aircraft of Squadron Leader AJ ‘Tony’ Reeves DFC, the Squadron’s Commanding Officer from the end of December 1944.
She is seen during a practice display at her home base, RAF Coningsby, Lincs, UK.
