Summary

Description
English: A damaged U.S. Navy Grumman TBF-1 Avenger assigned to Torpedo Squadron 8 (VT-8) makes a landing on board the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CV-3) without the benefit of a tailhook while the carrier operates off the Solomons. Note that the arrestor wire has caught the main undercarriage. The TBF only suffered some bent propeller blades.
