Description
English: The U.S. Navy repair ship USS Bridgeport (ID 3009) at New York City (USA), on 1 October 1917. She was previously the German merchant steamer Breslau, and was seized at New Orleans when the United States entered World War I. After being turned over to the U.S. Navy, she was renamed Bridgeport on 9 June 1917, and was placed in commission on 25 August 1917.
