Summary

Description
English: The German Zielgerät 1229 "Vampir" was the first night-vision sniperscope to enter service, used on the Stg 44 assault rifle. Small numbers were produced in 1944 and saw action starting in 1945 on the eastern front, where Soviet soldiers reported being attacked at night by snipers with a huge scope.
