"Get Low" is a popular song by Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz featuring Ying Yang Twins, released in 2003. It is featured on the 2002 album Kings of Crunk. The song reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and number 20 on the US Hot Digital Songs. It was number five on the top Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs of 2003.
The song is referenced by Vampire Weekend in their song, "Oxford Comma", from their 2008 self-titled album, proclaiming "First the window, then it's to the wall/ Lil' Jon, he always tells the truth." Chris Rock also referenced the song in a sketch about rap music, stating that he still loved rap music but was "tired of defending it" in reference to the song's explicit and misogynistic lyrics.
The Ying Yang Twins used their lines from the song later in their song "Hanh!" from the album Me & My Brother, and in the remix of Pitbull's song "Bojangles"
It was featured on the Need For Speed Underground soundtrack in a heavily edited version due to its subject matter and profanity. It is also known as a breakthrough single for the crunk genre, as it became mainstream point on from the song's release. Based on the lyrical content of the song, there were three radio versions for Get Low. One had amended lyrics (i.e. "take that thang to the floor, you skank, you skank"), while the other two were clean edited as is. Of the two clean versions, one version left the word "goddamn" intact while the super clean version edited all or part of the word.
This song was also featured in the movies Coach Carter, The Proposal in the scene where Sandra Bullock's character is seen singing and dancing to the song, and The Hangover.
