GlobeNewswire, is an American press release distribution company, headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

A NASDAQ OMX Group subsidiary since 2006, it is one a newswire distribution network. Formerly known as PrimeNewswire, the company changed its name to GlobeNewswire in 2008 to better reflect its international scope.[1]

Operations

The company specializes in the delivery of corporate press releases, financial disclosures and multimedia content to the media, investment community, individual investors and the general public.

In 2012, GlobeNewswire introduced its Streaming Media Player, which allows users to alternate between videos and slides while monitoring a variety of news sources.[2]
