Hakodate Station (函館駅, Hakodate-eki) is a railway station in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan, operated by the Hokkaido Railway Company (JR Hokkaido). It is the terminus of the Hakodate Main Line and the Tsugaru-Kaikyō Line; Hakodate Municipal Transit streetcars stop at the adjacent Hakodate Eki-mae Station.

The station has four platforms serving eight tracks.

1 to 4 Hakodate Main Line Local services for Nanae, Ōnuma, Mori and Oshamanbe
Esashi Line Local services for Kamiiso, Kikonai and Esashi
5 to 8 Hokuto limited express For Oshamanbe, Higashi-Muroran and Sapporo
Hakucho limited express For Shin-Aomori
Hokutosei limited express For Sendai and Ueno

History

Hakodate station first opened on 10 December 1902.

The current station building was opened on 21 June 2003.
