Halcyon Monitoring Solutions, Inc. provides software products and services for monitoring and managing infrastructure in the data center or the cloud. Halcyon's software monitors the health, performance, and availability of heterogeneous hardware and software, including servers, storage, networking devices, operating systems and applications. Halcyon specializes in Oracle/Sun technologies running in mission critical environments.

- Halcyon was founded in 1994 by software engineers at Systemware Innovation Corporation (SWI). Halcyon was created from the real-world experience of SWI engineers, who recognized the need for proactive systems monitoring to ensure reliability and availability of mission critical systems and applications.
- In 1996, Halcyon entered into an agreement with Sun Microsystems to co-develop Sun Enterprise SyMON 2.0 which is based on Halcyon's PrimeAlert technology. The product was later renamed to Sun Management Center and is Sun's framework for monitoring and managing Sun hardware and the Solaris OS including Zones (Containers), and Logical Domains (LDoms - now known as Oracle VM Server for SPARC).
- Today, Halcyon is expanding its coverage to include more than just performance monitoring through the use of its new technology branded Neuron. This includes common ITIL related components such as asset management, change and configuration management, compliance, capacity planning, and virtualization management.
