Hamburger Mary's Bar & Grille is a drag-themed burger restaurant chain[1] that started in San Francisco, California, in 1972.[2] The eateries are often in gayborhoods and represent harmful stereotypical gay culture through humorously named menu items,[3] flamboyant decor and many of their locations hosting drag shows on weekends. "Mary" in the name is a reference to the slang descriptor "Mary" used for gay men as far back as the early 1900s.[4][5] Hamburgery Mary's has been ctiricised by some in the LGBTQ community for contributing to the appropriation of queer space by heterosexual women for profit.

There are 13 Hamburger Mary's in the U.S. as of 2022. Their main offices are in Chicago and West Hollywood, as of 2013.

U.S. locations are sited in California (Long Beach, Ontario, West Hollywood), Colorado (Denver), Florida (Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando), Missouri (Kansas City), Nevada (Las Vegas) Texas (Houston), Wisconsin (Milwaukee), and Ohio (Toledo).[6]

Hamburger Mary's was featured in the "Grand Finale" of first season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.
