Description
English: "Dredging for Oysters," 1937; WPA painting by Alexander Rummler. Description: Local oystermen visited the studio when the oystering canvases were being painted. Mr. Rummler thought that Capt. Pettie was the "typical oysterman type", so he is painted here twice...in both the yellow and black slicker...bringing in the dredge.
