The International Hockey League was a professional ice hockey league in Canada and the USA that was formed in 1929. In 1936 the league began playing an interlocking schedule with the Canadian American Hockey League for two seasons before formally merging with that circuit on June 28, 1938, under the new name the International-American Hockey League.
