Jamaica competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. This was the first time it competed as an independent nation since Jamaica became independent in 1962, whereas previously the country had been a British Crown Colony that in the previous Olympics was represented in a composite British West Indies team. 21 competitors, 17 men and 4 women, took part in 16 events in 4 sports.[1]

In this Olympics, they won no medals. This Olympics and the 1956 Summer Olympics are the only Olympics where Jamaica won no medals at all.
