The 20909 / 10 Kochuveli-Porbandar Superfast Express[1] is a superfast train belonging to Indian Railways - Western Railway zone that runs between Kochuveli in Thiruvananthapuram and Porbandar in India.

It operates as train number 20909 from Kochuveli to Porbandar and as train number 20910 in the reverse direction serving the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat.[2] Since 31 March 2024, the train runs with LHB coaches

Coaches[edit]

The 20909 / 10 Kochuveli-Porbandar Superfast Express has 2 AC 2 tier, 6 AC 3 tier, 8 Sleeper Class,3 General Unreserved, 1 Pantry Car, 1 Generator Car & 1 SLR (Seating cum Luggage Rake) Coaches , thus making 22 LHB coaches from 28th March 2024. While the train was running with IRS rakes instead of LHB rakes, it had 9 sleeper coaches instead of 8 sleeper coaches and 2 SLR coaches instead of 1 SLR coach.

As is customary with most train services in India, Coach Composition may be amended at the discretion of Indian Railways depending on demand.

The 20909 / 10 Kochuveli−Porbandar Superfast Express runs from Kochuveli via Ernakulam Junction, Mangalore Junction, Madgaon Junction, Panvel, Vasai Road, Palghar, Ahmedabad Junction, Rajkot Junction to Porbandar.[3]

Traction[edit]

As Konkan has been fully electrified, a Valsad-based WAP-4 or Vatva-based WAP-4 locomotive powers the train from Kochuveli to Porbandar.
