Kreeri (Urdu;کریری) is a tehsil headquarters composed of 15 villages[1] in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir state, India. It has a population of about 1,400.[2][3] Most of the residents work in agricultural and horticultural fields.

Amenities

Kreeri has a post office (with postal code 193198) and a regional water supply scheme that provides drinking water to about three dozen villages in the Sangrama and Pattan constituencies. A sub-district Hospital and a big market which provides all types of amenities to the people of adjoining areas. Kreeri is also a hometown of ,one of the most famous poet of 90's,Ghulam Muhammad Paray(Nayeem Sidique) of Doulathpora Kreeri.With his two major Publications,"Yaad Paemy Be"and "Lahoo Rang Wadiya". A young writer, Lubna Laila is also hailing from Kreeri,who released her fisrt book “A Walk With Nature”at Kreeri in presence of scores of well-wishers and dignitaries.Speaking on the occasion, chief of the editorial board, Dr. Kohreen Bashar termed the effort of the young author unmatchable.“To express our thoughts in the form of writing is truly laudable,” said Dr Kohreen.Lubna is presently pursuing B.Sc from Govt.Degree College Sopore. She hails from village Dawlatpora Athoora in tehsil Kreeri of Baramulla district.
